# What Is LADT?

Established in 2023, LADT (Lao National Digital Technology Group) was initiated by the national payment platform NewPay, often dubbed the "PayPal of Laos." With the support and approval of the Prime Minister's Office and the Central Bank, it was spearheaded by the Lao National Holding Group, Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Science, Technology and Communications. As the rotating chair of ASEAN in 2024, the Laos government will collaborate with ASEAN member states to facilitate the implementation of NewPay and LADT across various countries.

LADT undertakes a significant role in driving the digitalization of financial systems, serving as a crucial national strategy that brings forth new prospects not just for Laos but also for the larger ASEAN community. Through the utilization of blockchain technology, LADT ensures the rapid and secure movement of assets, catering to individuals seeking such services.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.ladt.co/ladt/what-is-ladt.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
